Aha Andy, I have just noticed no full bet update from The Inspector. His Rules of Engagment, list 1.5 as the place mark for Split Bets. But, I know that he is more focused on strike rate in times when a debit is around. So, I would make it your rule to work to about 1.33 and ensure at least a break even if the selection only places. Dalston lad in the 12:55 was advised as a 3tbp yesterday (28/22) I took at 1.35 as other place bets are often still taken in the 1.3 range, can I ask why the change? No target hit and a debit day for me.
Zen, they are only a guide. It says 1.5 in the ROE. In the training webinar, we looked at this extensively. Odds can change a lot from early morning when The Inspector generally posts, and the selection was in backed in during the day. Plus, if you check back, only if a debit around is the odds safety net of break even used in the main. The selection was likely about 2.4 for the 2tbp early doors and 3tbp would then be about 1.7. Thanks Gav, I understand there can be a lot of movement during the day. I’ve been basing it on what I’ve seen from past results but there’s obviously some different choice made live, which I understand, just as an example though the first bet in the previous days sequence was taken at a 3tbp price of 1.39 with no previous debits.
I’ll look to aim for the standard 1.5 Split unless in a debit sequence and get the bank boosted back up. ?
I totally get where you are coming from on this. Here is a thing though, you have to be looking for target early doors. otherwise could stretch on
forever. If first race in a sequence, the 3tbp in the example you mention would probably have been target if the selection won. If it didn’t win, the 2tbp might not have been enough for target. In the Dalston bet, only a place was needed for target. Plus, number of runners, raw chance etc. Lot of difference between 12 runners and the 5 or 6 in Dalston race. Best, Gav
